Welcome to our web site!
This site was created to educate you on the properties and applications of aluminum 6013. The purpose of this project is
to identify, research, and perform manufacturing steps/processes involved in the production of a final product. The processes
we address in this project are casting, welding, heat treatment, and machining. We also perform tensile, hardness, and microhardness
tests and do a microstructural characterization to learn about the properties of aluminum 6013 and to see how these properties
are affected by the processes that we performed on the alloy. Lastly, we explore the application of the 6013 aluminum alloy
in the aerospace industry, namely for fuselage panels.
